THE USE OF STRENX® HIGH-STRENGTH STRUCTURAL STEEL IN TAJFUN FORESTRY MACHINERY.

The collaboration was initiated by SSAB’s regional sales manager, who works closely with our purchasing department on the supply of Strenx® steel plate. He was joined at Tajfun Planina by a representative from SSAB’s marketing team and a professional film crew.

STRENX® – HIGH STRENGTH FOR DEMANDING STRUCTURES

Strenx® is SSAB’s brand of high-strength structural steel. Thanks to its exceptional strength, it enables engineers to design structures using less material and achieve lower overall weight while maintaining the required load-bearing capacity and durability.

For this reason, Strenx® is used in a wide range of demanding applications, including transport equipment, construction machinery, agricultural and forestry machinery, as well as various types of lifting equipment and cranes.

At Tajfun, material selection is an important part of the machine development process. The use of high-strength steel allows us to optimise our structures and develop machines that combine high performance, low weight, durability and reliable operation in demanding working conditions.

SSAB also places strong emphasis on developing new steel production methods with a lower environmental impact. One of its key initiatives in this field is HYBRIT, a project focused on developing fossil-free steel production technology.

From Production to Work in the Forest

The filming was designed to tell the complete story of the material – from its use in our production processes to the finished machine operating in real working conditions

At our production facility, the film crew followed various stages of Tajfun machine manufacturing, including laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating and assembly. Particular attention was given to details showing how Strenx® steel plate is incorporated into individual structural components.

An important part of the story was also capturing the machines in operation. At Montpreis d.o.o., the crew filmed the Tajfun LIV 130ZK forestry crane, while the second part of the field shoot took place in Svetina. There, we demonstrated the entire timber extraction and handling process – from skidding logs with the VIP PRO 90 forestry winch to loading them with the GAP 140 forestry trailer and DOT 95K crane. This made it possible to show how the properties of high-quality structural steel translate into machines that must perform reliably every day under demanding forestry conditions.

A PARTNERSHIP THAT REFLECTS QUALITY

Tajfun Planina Managing Director Iztok Špan also took part in the filming, highlighting the importance of our cooperation with SSAB and the role that high-quality materials play in the development of our products.

High-strength steels such as Strenx® allow us to develop structures that deliver the required strength and performance while maintaining an optimised weight. This is particularly important in forestry machinery, where equipment is exposed to high loads, dynamic forces and demanding working environments.
